Associate Professor

Shanghai JiaoTong University

Dr. Qibin Zhao is an Associate Professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Shanghai JiaoTong University. His research focuses on functional materials assembled from nano- and microparticles; scalable methods for nanomaterial fabrication; emergent phenomena and mechanisms in soft condensed matter; and natural photonic structures and their roles in evolution. He developed the bending-induced oscillatory shearing method (BIOS) for large-scale photonic crystal assembly as a first year PhD student in Prof. Jeremy Baumberg's group at the University of Cambridge in 2011.
