Disappearing and reappearing of structure order in colloidal photonic crystals

Abstract

We study the mechanoresponsive behavior of colloidal photonic crystals, where pressing causes disorder and shear forces restore order, with potential applications in reversible photonic paper and anti-counterfeiting.
